VICTORY POINT WINES has scored GOLD and SILVER MEDALS with its two entries in the International Wine Challenge, based in London and now in its 36th year.

With 212 wine experts from 23 countries putting the wines to the test, there was very little ambiguity about the answers that came out of the four days of judging that took place at The Oval earlier this month.

VICTORY POINT 2015 CABERNET SAUVIGNON – GOLD MEDAL

Judges comment: Blackcurrant inky with tobacco and lifted herbs. A serious wine with gravelly tannin made in a refined style. Classic and elegant with lovely layers.

VICTORY POINT 2015 CHARDONNAY – SILVER MEDAL

Judges comment: Notes of rose petal, gingerbread, almonds and marzipan, with a creamy and textured mouthfeel, lead to lively pineapple fruit on the finish.

The International Wine Challenge is accepted as the world’s finest and most meticulously judged competition. The IWC assesses every wine “blind” and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Each medal winning wine is tasted on at least three separate occasions by a minimum of 12 different judges including Masters of Wine.

We hope to share the celebrations with you down at the cellar door soon.
