2010 CHARDONNAY

"Made from the four Dijon Burgundy clones plus the Mendoza clone; the quality of the grapes shines through like a beacon, the multiple fruit (and oak) flavours welded seamlessly into a coherent whole, the palate long and beautifully balanced, the flavours still fresh and succulent."

2009 CHARDONNAY

"Gleaming, bright green-straw; made using Burgundian clones 76, 95, 96 and 277,plus the Mendoza clone, a distinguished assemblage that has duly produced a distinguished, finely drawn and structured wine of great length and intensity; will be long lived."

James Halliday, Wine Companion

"This is a cracking good Chardonnay from this small Margaret River producer. The nose has a dry flinty character with traces of minerals and grapefruit. A little touch of creamy cashew and roasted almonds poke in there too. The palate has a dry almost savoury character with an excellent balance of fruit and oak. Classy wine."

"This is a true blockbuster with ripe stone fruit and toffee-vanilla oak on the nose, a balanced, elegant – though luscious – texture, crisp acidity and a long finish."

2008 CHARDONNAY

"Gleaming straw-green; the dry-grown vineyard is planted to the best of the best Dijon clones: 76, 95, 96 and 277, plus the 'hen and chicken' Mendoza clone; the wine is even more intense and complex than it was when first tasted in Mar ’09; amazing length. Grand Cru white burgundy stuff."

2008 THE MALLEE ROOT

"A 33/33/25/9% blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec, petit verdot and merlot, hand-picked and destemmed in individual batches to small open fermenters then basket pressed to French oak barrels (35% new) for the mlf and 20 months maturation. The colour is still bright, and the complex, full-bodied palate has abundant black fruits, tannins and oak all in measured support. Will be very long lived."

2008 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

"A blend of 86% cabernet sauvignon, 10% malbec and 4% petit verdot; open-fermented, basket-pressed and matured in French oak (35% new) for 18 months. It still retains excellent colour, and a complex, medium- to full-bodied palate with good balance and length to its blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, the tannins ripe and soft."

2007 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

"A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (86%)/Malbec (10%)/Petit Verdot (4%) that spent 18 months in 30% new French oak which invested the wine with cedary characters on both the bouquet and medium-bodied palate; blackcurrant and spice flavours run through to the long finish."

"This release from Victory Point is labelled as cabernet sauvignon though it includes 10 percent malbec and four percent petit verdot. It was aged for 18 months in French oak, 30 percent of which was new. And it’s in very fine fettle. It’s great to see a cabernet with a good strike of tannin. It tastes of blackcurrant and eucalypt, spicy oak and a mix of raisins and earth. Fruit-wise it’s well powered and it has excellent extension through the finish. This is an excellent red."

Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

"Substantial red wine from this very good vintage. Shows the continued improvement from this Margaret River producer. Lots of powerful black fruits in here with blackcurrant and traces of black olive. The palate is loaded with ripe substantial tannins and plenty of oak which remains in balance."
